µInvent 2011
The Association of Electronics and Telecommunication Students organizes in collaboration with the Maritime University in Constanta during July 28–30 the µInvent–2011 international contest for students preoccupied with the electronic design field. This contest’s purpose is to create the occasion to inform and exchange experience between students and specialists in the applied electronics, telecommunications and informatics, which will contribute to the young participants’ personal and professional development, for a better integration on the labour market.
Details on the contest’s course
The first category of the µInvent–2011 contest is the performance of projects on the TexasInstruments offered hardware. This hardware consists of EZ430-Chronos (868MHz) and eZ430-RF2500 development kits. The 2–student (maximum) teams must come up with a project idea to be accomplished on one of these development kits, choice subject to availability.
The participants will fill out a registration form, which will contain details on the project they will accomplish. The registration form will be analyzed by the assessment and validation committee, which will decide whether the project has been accepted into the contest or not. Following a favourable decision, the organizers will send the development kit to the participants. We do not want to restrict projects, therefore the student can bring any modification to the development kit and can use any external components he/she deems necessary to achieve the wanted purpose. Beware, however, in case the development kits no longer function after they have been modified, AETS does not guarantee their replacement, so modifications are brought on one’s responsibility.
In the contest’s second category, the students can apply with projects they have already executed or will be completed by the date the contest takes place. There are no restrictions for this category, the 2–student (maximum) teams can submit any type of project (the only condition is for the project to have been executed by themselves).
The two categories will be judged independently, they will have separate prizes, and a participant may register in both categories, provided he/she brings a separate (software or hardware) project for each category.
Useful information for the participants.
- The registration form must be sent to the organizers until the June 15, at the following e-mail address:
